Morning Read: So Vladimir Gutierrez now holds a 2.65 ERA through three starts. The big question is, is he real? In short. Likely not. We are working with small samples here but one of the most important stats in small samples is K-BB%. Vladimir has an 18.3 K% and 11.3 BB% which means he has a K-BB% of 7.0%. No bueno. Also to note is his insanely low HR/FB rate of 5.3%. In the minors, he averaged 13.9% and there is just no way this holds. Which is where that high walk rate will hurt him in the long run.
Today's Streamer: There aren't a ton of options today since there aren't a lot of games overall. Our pick today makes sense for matchup reasons. J.A. Happ draws the Yankees. Sure they just hit Randy Dobnak, although who doesn't, but they have struggled against left-handed pitchers all season. Plus, if he can just get through Judge, Gleyber, and Stanton the rest of the lineup is just meh.
