Morning Read: Oh hello Logan Webb! Last night Webb stifled the Rangers pitching six innings with one earned run, only three hits, and ten strikeouts! Webb had everything working for him. His sinker induced zero whiffs but 12 called strikes, enough for a 41 CSW%. He then paired it with his changeup which induced nine whiffs, good for a 44 CSW%. Tack on fours whiffs with the slider and Webb had the complete arsenal working. Last night he worked low in the zone which actually works for his arsenal. He tried to keep the sinkers low and in with the changeups towards the bottom of the zone. He did miss in the middle at times but overall his command looked good. Keep an eye on him.
Today's Streamer: This is the first time in a while we had three different pitchers for each level. How exciting! Our main pick will be Zach Davies. This is certainly risky since he has had two blowups this season but I think he draws a good matchup. Plus in his last two starts, he has a 0.82 ERA which is kind of wild.
Shallow League Option: Taijuan Walker has been very good this season. He has especially been good at home (1.56 ERA) and now the Orioles come to town. The Orioles have continued to labor through this season so I can't imagine Walker having any issues at all.
Deep League Option: John Gant goes into Milwaukee to take on the Brewers. While Gant's underlying numbers aren't great he has yet to let up more than three runs in a start. He looks to have a safe floor and sometimes we look for a pitcher who just won't hurt us. He gives you a good shot to get a win as well.
Looking For Strikeouts: Taijuan Walker and Casey Mize.
