Streamers Week of 8/9/21:

It's great to be back in the saddle again here @SPStreamer writing about some streaming options that could help you out this week. Many fantasy managers are running low on FAAB or the equivalent, so we look at low-rostered, low-cost options here each week. These will be players rostered in less than 20% of NFBC Online Champions leagues. Let's scour the waiver wire and find some bargains.

Hitters

Miguel Cabrera (rostered in 8% of NFBC Online Champions): Yes, I know what you are thinking. Really, Mike? Yes, really, and here is why: four home runs in his last two weeks, and he's had five multiple hit outings in the last two weeks. With power at a premium, and injuries mounting at corner infield positions, maybe a flyer on Miggy could help you out. He's got a mild 11 home runs on the year but might be heating up as the weather warms to uncomfortable humidity levels for average humans.

Andres Gimenez (rostered in 17% of NFBC Online Champions): Gimenez was just recalled by Cleveland last night and should see everyday playing time moving forward. He's a sneaky source of steals; he had four in an earlier audition this year before being sent to AAA. While at AAA, he was hitting .287 with 10 homers and eight steals. An added bonus is that he has MI and CI eligibility in NFBC. Bid and sit back and wait for counting stats.

Tommy La Stella (rostered in 4% of NFBC Online Champions): Quietly returning this week from injury, La Stella got two hits in first game back. His positional versatility helps him in real life with the surprising San Francisco Giants, and also in the fantasy baseball world. I think he will get plenty of at bats against right-handed pitchers and can help you with batting average and sneaky power.

Pitchers

Nick Anderson (rostered in 8% of NFBC Online Champions): I know Anderson has been hurt much of the year, but I smell opportunity for him in Tampa Bay. With the recent trade of Diego Castillo to Seattle, and the persistent injury woes of Pete Fairbanks, the closer chair seems wide open for the Rays. The current tandem appears to be Matt Wisler and Andrew Kittredge, and I firmly believe that Anderson will be in a high leverage role once he returns. The question is when that will be. But a $1 bid tonight could get you saves down the road as the calendar ticks into September.

Dylan Floro (rostered in 15% of NFBC Online Champions): Floro looks to be the closer at this time for Miami, and with saves being at an all-time premium this fantasy season, a small bid could net you profit. Floro earned two saves this week. Act quickly and secure his services tonight.

Spencer Patton (rostered in 13% of NFBC Online Champions): We are heavy on looking for saves this week, and Patton appears the first in line for the chair in Texas. The issue will be that he may not get many opportunities with a moribund team. He's merely a placeholder as a 33-year-old veteran who could get you 3-4 saves in the interim.
